Be sure to check out:

1. Waipi’o Valley

Let’s start with a little history. Waipi’o means “curved water” in the native language of Hawaii. The valley is located in the Hamakua district of the island. It has an interesting history that has to do with kings, so if you love history, this will be a great visit. The waterfalls, rivers, and Tara fields are so beautiful that to see these alone is worth the trip.

Get a guided tour of the “Valley of Kings” on foot, horseback or by car and have all the fun you can get.

2. Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden

Widely acclaimed as one of the most beautiful areas of Hawaii, it is a rain forest reserve that takes your breath away probably to make more rain! It is really a “Garden in a Valley on the Ocean”.

We suggest you take a guided garden tour. Tours are available for multiple trails, including the Onomea Falls and Palm Jungle Trail.

3. Hawaii Volcanoes National Park

This place is simply breathtaking. It is a special place, an enrapturing world of active volcanism, biological diversity, and Hawaiian culture. At its heart are two of the world’s very few active volcanoes, and home of nature’s geological beauties. It has a vast array of beautiful natural landscapes, and you can camp there once you’ve paid an entry fee. Staying onsite is your best bet if you want to see as much of it as possible and experience its guided tours and themed wilderness tours.

4. Pu’uhonua O Honaunau National Historic Park

It is located on the west coast of the island and situated on a 180-acre area of land. This place is considered sacred ground. (Hush!) In ancient times, it was a place of refuge to certain law-breakers who would be lucky enough to elude their pursuers and reach its boundaries, away from physical harm. To preserve its sacred nature, certain extravagant activities of tourists are restricted.

There are a lot of things to see here including a sacred temple, wooden statues of the Hawaiian gods, black lava rocks and beautiful scenery. You’ll most certainly feel the spirit of peace and forgiveness when you go into the Pu’uhonua O Honaunau National Historic Park.

Going on any holiday is fun, but visiting Hawaii is much better! The island is bigger than this list, the options are more than a single article can take, and the experience – no one can beat that. Have fun as you navigate and explore the beauties of nature in the Island of Hawaii.
